Hey Shakespeare, I was watching TV with Mom the other night and the people were talking about Mother’s Day. I looked at the calendar Mom has hanging on the wall and it said today is Mother’s Day.
What does that mean?
It means we are supposed to honor our mothers and show them how much we love them.
Hemingway, you do know that Mom isn’t our real mom, don’t you? I mean…she doesn’t look a thing like either of us. She’s much taller and she doesn’t have fur.
Shakespeare, sometimes I wonder how long it’s going to take you to grow up. I know that Mom adopted us. That’s even more reason for us to show her how much we love her. She chose us from all those homeless kittens out there. We were special in her eyes, and in our eyes she’s special to us.
Do you think humans thought up this holiday? I’m thinking cats thought it up ‘cuz we are just naturally loving and caring.
I don’t know about that, but I know I’m going to be extra nice to Mom today. She’s getting older and she can’t run around and chase us all the time. I’m going to try to stay out of trouble all day long and I think you should try to do the same, Shakespeare.
Hemingway, I’m a very good kitty. I don’t jump up on Mom’s desk all the time like you do.
Well, I don’t jump up to see what’s in the sink.
Shhhhhhhhhhh……….I think Mom’s coming. We better stop arguing and start purring.
We love you, Mom!!
