Go Away Winter

We got to go outside this morning!

Mom said we had to go out now ‘cuz the weather was going to change this afternoon and it was going to be real windy and real cold.

This is me sitting by the gate.  This is how Mom goes in and out of the yard when she takes her walk.  I don’t feel like walking today so I’m glad Mom went out earlier.

This is me checking out some new smells in the yard.  I think my squirrel buddy must have been around earlier this morning.  Mom says he was probably looking for some food so he could curl up in his nest when it gets cold.

Well, Mom was right!  It got really,  really windy and even though that bright light in the sky is shining, it is getting really, really cold.  It’s already below freezing and Mom said the temperature will be dropping below zero.  I still don’t understand how the temperature can be less than zero.  I thought zero was the end!  Anyway, I’m just going to hide in my box the rest of the night.

I’m just going to curl up on the bed to stay warm.  Mom, I was sleeping so good.  Why did you disturb me with that stupid camera?

Mom….wake me when it’s warmer……or when you have some treats for us….whichever comes first.

  1. I really like your new photos—you’re both so beautiful!

Yes, it’s cold and windy, but that goofy cat of mine, Nels, begged and begged to go out on the porch, so I let him. He chased back and forth, trying to get to the leaves that were dashing about.

  2. Wow, I cannot even imagine cold below zero! Last week it got down into the 30s here, and that is colder than this southern California kitty likes!

    1. When Mom got home from church this morning we saw the big light shining outside and we begged and begged to let us go out. She told us it was too cold but kitties don’t always listen to humans. Hemingway here: I made a quick dash outside and turned around and ran right back inside. Mom laughed at me. Shakespeare here: I decided to go sit by the fire!

  3. What delight to read your blog, especially from the fur person perspective. I found you because you wrote to Top 10 Pictures of Grumpy Cats, I am so glad I checked you two out. We in Seattle seem to send the weather over your way – it’s not bad here but once it goes over the Cascade Mountains, it gets worse. Then by the time it reaches you, it is very cold and miserable. Almost like the game Gossip – By the time the last person is told the story, it is so very different from what was said originally.

Keep writing because I enjoy your posts!

    1. Thank you so much for finding us and following us. Mom says she has friends in Seattle and she’s been there and likes it. I guess it’s not really your fault that you let the cold weather and snow move out of your city, head over the mountains, and head our way. Still………could you maybe shut the door so it doesn’t escape?????

  4. H & S…we think ewe will get waked up for treetz furst coz if it be crazed cold at yur place like it bee heer…it aint ever gonna get warm!!!!!

    1. You are so right. Our crazy Mom actually went walking this morning and she said it wasn’t bad. We heard them say on that picture noise box that is was a wind chill of minus 30. We don’t know what that means but it sounds really cold. We stayed inside! We’re smarter than humans.

Purrs, meows, barks, chirps and human comments are greatly appreciated. We love hearing from our readers.
