Happy Catnip New Year!!

We’re kind of being mellow today.  Christmas wore us out!

You didn’t have to get into EVERYTHING!

Isn’t that what Christmas is for?  All those packages filled with toys and treats and catnip smells.

Some were mine and you tried to open all of them.

Oh well, I’m just a kitten.  What can you expect?

Obviously, not much!

Mom says we’re supposed to say Happy New Year to everyone.  What does that mean?

It means that tomorrow it will be 2017.

What is it today?

It’s the last day of 2016.

I’ve never seen 2017 before.

None of us have but we’re hoping God will bless us with some wonderful moments and be right by our sides during the tough times.  We hope and pray that will hold true for all of our readers.

The Party’s Over

steinbeck-and-theresa

This is my first Christmas!!!  Did you know that, Aunt Theresa?  I’m so excited you’re here!

Mom took lots of pictures of both of us at the Christmas/Birthday celebration.  I swear she had that flashy box going all the time!!!  Normally Steinbeck shuts his eyes when he sees her pointing it at him but this time he was so excited he kept his eyes open!!

Mom said we could do a slide show of some of our pictures.  I know how to slide!

Steinbeck, that’s not what it means.  Just put the pictures up here.

At the end of the day, it was almost too much for Steinbeck!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

merry-christmas

Steinbeck, Christmas isn’t just about the treats and toys…..

Treats????

Yes, Santa Paws usually leaves treats and toys for us.  However, as I was saying, Christmas is more than that.  It’s a time to relax and reflect on all the good things that have happened to you.

Like finding a furever home?

Yes, that’s it.  Many fur people don’t have homes and they are all alone.  We need to pray for them that they will find the love they need and deserve.  We also need to pray that the humans all over the world will learn to get along.

That’s a big prayer!

Yes, but God is a big God.

Now, we better go check on Mom and the rest of the family and make sure they are having fun.

Merry Christmas to all of our special blogging friends!!!

Birthday Caturday Art

happy-birthday-hemingway

Hey Everyone!!!  It’s my birthday today so Mom made a very colorful picture of me for Caturday Art.  She said she’s so proud of me ‘cuz I’m seven years old now.  She said she’s so glad she adopted me and gave me a furever home.  I’m all excited ‘cuz this will be Steinbeck’s first Christmas and he doesn’t know about all the neat things Santa Paws will bring for both of us.

Mom said I should take the time to thank all of you dear readers for following us this year and we hope to provide you with lots of entertainment next year.  We especially want to thank everyone for the wonderful support when we lost our precious Shakespeare.  Mom gets watery eyes even now when she thinks of all the kind words, prayers and hugs we both received.

May your Christmas be glorious and may you feel God’s love surrounding you.

Merry Christmas to all!!

Oh, check out the other Caturday Art that our friends did.

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents?  We only have a mom but I was so excited when I saw her come up to my cage at the Humane Society.  I was with some siblings but she spotted me right away.  We went into a room so we could play together.  Her girlfriend was with her and she took some pictures of us.  Both of them decided I was the perfect choice so she took me to my forever…

It’s cold and snowy outside so I’m just going to curl up inside and stay warm.  If you see that guy in the red suit, please tell him not to forget me!  I wasn’t even born last year so he may not realize I’m here now.  I promise I’ve been good………….well, most of the time!

Two Cat Night

dsc_0762

Hemingway, I get concerned when Mom has to go outside in the cold.

Don’t worry, Little One.  Mom has lived in Minnesota for many, many, many, many years and she can handle the cold…..even if she doesn’t like it.

But this morning we had less than no temperature.  There was a – sign in front of the temperature.  So why did the angels steal so many temperatures that they put us in the hole.

I don’t know.

And did you say what they did outside?  They spilled flour all over the place!

Steinbeck, that’s snow.  I think I’ve told you about it before but you keep forgetting.  It’s cold and you don’t want to put your paws in it.  Don’t worry, the sun will eventually melt it but it will be many months now before that happens.

But won’t the angels have to give us back some of those temperatures?

Teaching Steinbeck is so hard.  I need to take a nap and try and recover.

I’ll just stay in this sun puddle and try to get warm.  Are we going to have another two cat night?

Steinbeck, you better explain to your readers what you’re talking about.

Well, last night we were concerned that Mom might get cold during the night so both of us slept on her head.  She told us it was a two cat night.  Maybe we should call some of our friends to come join us since it’s going to be even colder tonight!
