It’s a beautiful evening, Hemingway. Let’s dance.
Are you crazy?
NO! I think it would be fun. Just try it.
You lift your right foot up, you lift it up real high, you twirl it in the air and you slap your partner’s paw.
You lift your left foot up, you lift it up real high, you twirl it in the air and you slap your partner’s paw.
You do the hoodle doodle and you hold your partner’s paws. That’s what I call a dance!!
Mom………..what’s a hoodle doodle???? Is Steinbeck old enough for that?
Howdy, Readers! This has been a fabulous day for me. When Mom got home from work she was kind of acting funny. She was being super nice to both of us. Wait, that sounded wrong. Mom’s always nice to us. However, I was thinking she was up to something. I was right. Next thing I knew I was in the car and we were heading to the doctor lady’s house. Mom kept telling me not to worry.
Here I am trying to melt into the chair in the waiting room.
Here I am trying to melt into the scale. Would you believe I fell asleep in here? Mom was real proud of me ‘cuz I’m down to 19 pounds now so I’m a slim, trim, dude!
Here’s the doctor lady looking at where my tooth used to be. I let her do that without any problems. Mom told me I was real good.
When I got home, Mom said there was a surprise for me. I actually got something in the mail! Steinbeck thought it was for him, too. However, it was just my name on the envelope.
Here I am protecting my mail from others!
These are my neat gifts from the tooth fairy. Of course Steinbeck thought he should check everything out as well.
Here’s Steinbeck “pouncing” on one of they toys.
Here I am protecting one of the toys. If you notice on my leg, that’s where they shaved off my fur. It’s growing back nicely.
So that was my Monday. Not bad! I hope all of you had a super Monday, too.
Mom’s been lazy lately. Ever since she got older, we’ve had to nag at her to get things done! We think she’s completely forgotten how to turn on the puter for us. So today, I nagged really hard. Here’s what I came up with!
I was up on the desk helping Mom and I saw this on her puter. I think it looks an awfully lot like me!!!!
Have a super day, everyone! Oh, and don’t forget to visit our other friends at the blog hop.
Mom doesn’t know I’m up here writing to everyone. I think she’s taking a nap. She got older so she gets tired more now. Kind of like us!
Anyway, I wanted to give you kitties a lesson on how to really frustrate your mom when she’s trying to give you a pill. Mom always brags about how mellow I am and how I just don’t get uptight about anything. Well, if I’m going to have to take a pill, it’s going to be in my time and in my own way. Mom learned that the hard way.
Last night she got home from work and she started trying to give me my pill. I would not cooperate at all. She kept trying and trying and I kept spitting it out. This went on all night. She even tried putting it in yogurt and ice cream but I ate all around it. I could tell she was getting frustrated ‘cuz she kept mumbling to herself.
Four hours later I still didn’t have the pill inside me. Mom decided to take a break and read her emails. She set my pill on the computer desk in front of the monitor hoping it would give her inspiration. Before long I jumped up on the computer desk, looked at her, walked over to the pill and took a sniff………….and then I just ate it all up. Down it went into my tummy where it was supposed to be. MOL!!!! Mom just looked at me with her mouth open!!!
So now your lesson on frustration is done. Oh, there’s another pill that has to go down me tonight. I’m not sure what I’ll do this time!!!
Today was my big trip to the hospital. I saw it on the calendar so when Mom tried being sneaky about it this morning, she wasn’t fooling me. I played, “catch me if you can” thinking if I made Mom really late, they wouldn’t be able to do surgery. It didn’t work. I was over at the doctor’s house bright and early. Even though they pretended to be super happy to see me, I was afraid something bad was going to happen.
What really scared me was when Mom left me. She walked right out that door to her car and forgot to bring me with her!!! The nerve!!
Well, even though it was a scary day for me, I was really good. Here’s a picture of me when I was ready for surgery. Notice that nobody has to hold me? I’m always Mr. Mellow at the doctor’s house and they just love me. Now my little brother is an entirely different story!
They gave me some stuff to go to sleep so I wouldn’t feel anything. This is a picture of me off in dreamland.
I’m glad to see they had me all snuggled in. They said I did really good through the whole procedure.
Here I am after surgery. My eyes look a little droopy but they’re wide open now. Mom was so happy to see me. She said they took care of two teeth….one on each side. At least I’m still balanced. MOL!!!
I just wanted everyone to know that I’m doing great. Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes. Poor little Steinbeck was really confused since I was gone all day. I don’t think he knows what happened yet.
Mom sends a big thanks to the doctor lady for taking pictures of me while I was there so I could share them on our blog.
Mom went to the dogs this weekend!
Besides that, she got older. I thought I was the only one getting older this month!
Maybe we should explain. Mom went on a road trip….
I was getting to that, Steinbeck. Anyway, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, Mom went to visit her friend who has two dogs. That’s why we say she went to the dogs this weekend. MOL!!
This is Benny and he’s special ‘cuz he has one blue eye and one brown eye. We asked Mom if he was sticking his tongue out at us and she guaranteed us that he was not doing that. He was just telling her that he didn’t like having his picture taken.
This is Jack and I think I like him ‘cuz he’s like me. He always wants to have something in his mouth and he’s always ready for a good game.
Mom also got to meet this pony at the Summer Festival where they were giving pony rides. She said this pony was really nice. She explained that the pony was like a very big dog. I get it now!
While Mom was gone, she got older. Well, she says she’s not officially getting older for another hour yet, but we can tell you that she’s older! Watch out world, you never know what our Mom might do now that she’s even more grown-up!! MOL!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!! WE LOVE YOU AND WE MISSED YOU!!
Mom went out and took some pictures of the flowers in our yard.
Some of these flowers are outside of the fence so we never see them.
We think she should put more flowers in the back yard where we can see them.
We told Mom that and she said, “We’ll see.” We’re pretty sure to humans that means……maybe in elebenty billion years.
I can’t see the flowers!
Mom, is that a flower?
Oh well, please enjoy our colorful world.
Mom, I looked in this bag you brought home and there are no kitty treats!
We’re doing the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop again with our friends. Check out what the others are doing.
Finally. At long last. I never thought it would get here!
This is me the day Mom chose me to be her new kid. I was two months old and I wanted a furever home. Mom got me at the Animal Humane Society, which is where she got Hemingway and also Angel Shakespeare. Funny thing is, we all came from different locations!
Fast forward ten months and this is me now. I am officially ONE YEAR OLD!!!! Mom says I’m a big boy now. Maybe she’ll even let me date!
Last night when I went to sleep I wasn’t one, but today I am! I’m so happy!!! What a glorious day!
Happy Birthday, Steinbeck, from Mom and me. We both hope you have a super fantastic day.
Thanks Mom and Hemingway. I love you both. Now, let the party begin!! Bring on the catnip martinis.
