Caturday Winter Art

Hi, Readers!  Mom’s home today and now she’s seeing what our days are like.  We play hard in the morning and then we nap.  Mom caught me with one of the toys that I had pulled out of the toy box.  She thought I looked so cute.  Then she used LunaPic to change it and make it all arty.  She did all this while I continued to sleep.  Steinbeck was sleeping way up on top of the computer desk so he wasn’t even bothering me………for a change!  I hope you enjoy the picture.

Here’s the original one:

Saturday Play

Here’s how she changed it:

Playing is Tiring

White Is the New Purple

Why is purple gone?

Remember that football game Mom was watching on Sunday?

She turned it off.

That’s ‘cuz she got tired of seeing her team lose.

So why is white such a big thing now?

Have you looked outside?

snowstorm1 - Copy

Wow!!!  Did that happen while I was taking a nap?  How will the birds find their food?

snowstorm2

Those deep ruts are from Mom’s car when she barreled into the driveway after work.

snowstorm3 - CopyLook!  I can see the snow falling!

snowstorm4 - Copy

I think that bush looks lots prettier with all that white stuff on it.

snowstorm6

Wow!  Our back yard is gone!  It’s all covered in white.

snowstorm7

Here’s why Mom’s not letting us out on the deck.  Look at all that snow that she stumbled through.  We don’t want our paws getting into that!!

snowstorm8

Good thing Mom got more wood delivered on Saturday.

Too bad nobody can see it now!

snowstorm5

Mom says this is her favorite picture.  She said the snow is a nuisance and driving is impossible, but the fluffy white makes everything look so festive.

We hope you enjoyed our snowstorm!

Mom’s Gone Purple!!!

Readers, we have a problem.

Mom has gone purple and we can’t stop her.

I guess we better explain.  Mom loves to watch this game called football.  It’s a game for humans but we think it looks very much like us when we are wrestling.

Yeah…..so why does Mom tell us not to wrestle???

It’s a human thing.  Anyway, she loves her Vikings and starts yelling and jumping around whenever she watches one of their games.

You should have seen her last Sunday.  She was pacing and snorting and holding her breath…….

……..then she was screaming and bouncing all over the place!!  She woke me up from my nap and didn’t even apologize.

Now tonight she got hold of a couple of our pictures and look what she did!

You can’t even tell it’s us!!!  I think she’s gone off the edge for sure.

From the Mom:  Sorry, but I’m going to be a little purple crazy a bit longer.  I’m with all the other great Minnesota Vikings fans who are still stunned by the major miracle this past Sunday and praying for another one this coming Sunday.  This team has fought long and hard and I’m purple through and through.  Hemingway and Steinbeck, you may want to go into the bedroom next Sunday when the game’s on.

Mom was feeling creative so she took one of our pictures where we were actually wrestling and she changed it all up using LunaPic.

We were kind of bored ‘cuz we had to stay inside.  Mom said it was way too cold and even she wasn’t going outside today.  So, we did what boys do?  We wrestled!

Here’s the original photo.  Notice that I look a little upset that Mom broke up our wrestling match to take a picture?

The Boys 2018

This is what the picture turned out like after Mom messed around with it.  We think it looks pretty cool!  Thanks, Mom!

National Kiss a Ginger Day

Big Boy Steinbeck

What do you mean it’s “National Kiss a Ginger Day”.  Don’t you mean “National Kiss a Ginger Year”???

Steinbeck…..have you looked at that picture?

Sure……..why?

You look like an enormous puffball!!  You also look like you’re falling asleep!

It’s the camera angle, the lighting, and the fact that I’m balancing on a ledge.  It’s still better than this one:

PatientPhoto

MOL!!!  I remember that one.  They took it at the vet’s house on your first visit when you were really little.  You had just had your ears cleaned and you were not happy.  Mom said you were sporting “helicopter ears”.  Didn’t she promise to have them take another picture that looks better?

Yes……..but they still have this picture.  How’s a guy supposed to meet cute girl cats with a picture like this?  Now, about this “Kiss a Ginger” day.  Do I get treats?

From the Mom:  I do the daily Out of Office list at work and I always try to find some unique celebration or holiday going on for each day.  Imagine my surprise when I discovered January 12th is “National Kiss a Ginger Day”.  Now I suppose I have to find out when “Kiss a Tuxie Day” is, too!

A Normal Night

We spent all day waiting for Mom to get home.

Steinbeck, you were sleeping most of the time.

That’s how I do my best waiting!

Mom finally got home and gave us supper.

That’s why we wanted her home.  Oh……..and of course we wanted to see her, too.

Black and white with red

Then we started playing.  At least I started playing.  I found this red feathery thing and I thought it looked so neat against my white and black furs.  Notice how white my fluffy tummy is?  Steinbeck doesn’t have a white tummy.  That’s how you can tell us apart.  MOL!!!

patiently waiting

That’s a nice toy you have there, Hemingway.  Are you going to let me play with it?

Will you shareSteinbeck, can’t you go find your own toy?  Why do you have to have mine?  (By the way readers, do you notice that Steinbeck doesn’t have a white tummy?)

Can I have it now

But see how nice it looks with my furs?  It really blends in.  Please let me play.

sharing is fun

Fine.  I know Mom likes us to share and play nice.  We should do it for her and show our readers that we do get along.

Thanks, Hemingway!

Sunday Selfie

imageedit_7_3479077488

Mom said I could do the selfie today.  She and her brother sometimes laugh at me ‘cuz I sit and stare at dirt.  I love doing it and I always have.  This is one of my favorite pots.  I just sit and stare and think about wonderful things.  I talk to Shakespeare and ask him how all our friends are doing on the Other Side of the Rainbow Bridge.  I talk about the weather and how cold it is.  I talk about the little one, Steinbeck.  Believe me……..he’s not so little when we’re wrestling!  Dirt listens to me and it understands me.  What’s so wrong with that?

Here’s the original picture before Mom messed around with it.

I hope you have a wonderful day and that you check out the selfies of all my other friends at the Selfies Blog Hop.

Mystery Guest

Mystery Guest

So, Mystery Guest, are you going to stay here forever?  Mom set you up and I just want to know why you’re taking up that spot.  You do realize that you’re mighty close to our scratching post.  I better not catch you using it!  What are all those lights and beeping noises you make?  Why do you sometimes chase me around the house?  You don’t know where my food dish is, do you?  You won’t get into my toys, will you?

imageedit_20_9461957979

Steinbeck……….that’s not a mystery guest!  That was a Christmas present for Mom.  It’s a vacuum cleaner but it’s much quieter than the big one.  But you don’t need to sit there all the time talking to it.  You should leave it alone.

I know, but it follows me around!

That’s probably ‘cuz you’re a mess!

From the Mom:  Yes, I got a robotic vacuum cleaner for Christmas and it’s great.  The boys were very confused the first time it started running around on its own.  However, since it doesn’t make as much noise as the big one, they didn’t feel the need to hide.  No, I won’t encourage them to ride it.  They are both big boys so it might be too hard on the poor “Mystery Guest”.  I’m sure there will be more “tails” regarding this new guest.

We Made It!!!

Mom says we should let you know that we survived the holidays and we’re ready for 2018.

Hemingway and wrapping

Well, I for one had to work very hard!  I turned 8 years old on December 24th so of course I had to check on all the presents.  Steinbeck was really slow about getting involved in all the mayhem but once he discovered that we had a Bolt, he got very excited chasing the red dot all around.

Big Sleep 2018

This is my safe place.  I’m way up on top of the computer desk so I can supervise Mom as she works on our blog.  Mom always smiles when she sees me up here ‘cuz she said Shakespeare used to sit up there all the time, too.

Tired Boy

Well, it was hard work turning eight so I had to get my rest in when I could.

My Big Box

Mom…is this box for me?  How do I get in it?  Is there a special door?

From the Mom:  Special greetings to all our friends!  We hope 2018 will be a special one for all of you and that it will be a year filled with kindness, love and peace instead of hatred, crimes and cruelty.  The boys had a fun time exploring new toys and new treats.  They’ve been doing lots of napping lately.  So have I!!  It’s been really cold and we do have snow on the ground but not much.  I hate to think of heading back to work tomorrow ‘cuz I know the boys will be at home sleeping in sun puddles.  Oh well….I guess someone had to pay for their food!  I hope to do a better job of sending you updates and funny stories in 2018.  Sometimes it gets really hard working full time and trying to get all the fun things done.  Thanks for following us!!
