Yesterday Mom was coming in the door and all of a sudden she was yelling, “Ouch!” and kind of hopping around.
We had been busy playing together and stopped to see what Mom was doing.
We are totally innocent. We had nothing to do with what happened to Mom.
I didn’t trip her.
I didn’t bite her.
She did it all on her own.
Here’s a picture of her Valentine’s Toe. See all the pretty colors? There’s red and pink and purple.
She had a little trouble walking in the door. She didn’t lift her foot high enough and smashed her toe into the door sill. She wasn’t happy with herself at all!! We may have to teach her to walk.
But we didn’t do it and we’re so glad we’re innocent.
But we do feel bad for Mom so we’ve been giving her extra cuddles.
Has your human ever had a Valentine’s Toe???
Oh no! OUCH! That toe looks sore! Mom never had that, but once she got a brand new knee and she needed cuddles for that till it got stronger. It didn’t look like a Valentine – it looked more like a FRANKENSTEIN!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Cupcake, our Mom got two new knees at the same time but that was before we knew her. We don’t think this was her smartest move.

Oooh, that looks like it hurts! She probably feels pain wearing shoes but it’s too cold to wear sandals. And her “accident” would be all too apparent with sandals anyway.
My mommy is klutzy too! She has broken both her wrists in the last 10 years (even though nothing more than a strained ankle before). Just showing her old bones and lack of gracefulness. And she was born on a Tuesday. You know the old saying “Monday’s child is fair of face, Tuesday’s child is full of grace”. Not my mommy. Not physically anyway.
Luvz, Patzy
Patzy, we are trying to convince Mom to walk on all fours but she’ll have nothing to do with that idea. We explain that we are more graceful that way but she doesn’t care. We’ll just cuddle and purr and help her heal. Good luck taking care of your Mom.

tHANK GOODNESS YOU TWO HAD NOTHING…i SAID n o t h i n g to do with her toe injury. Yep, mom has had problems walking before. We’ve shown her she has to lift her feet right up when she walks but she doesn’t quite get the full impact of the idea. She is doomed to repeat the weird behaviour.
Shoko and Kali
Shoko and Kali, we’re discovering humans are very hard to train no matter what country! Good luck with your human.

Ouch! Your poor mom, make sure you give her lots of purrs.
Every chance we get, we jump up and purr at her.

That looks painful! Humans are so fragile. They don’t tell you that in kitten training school.
They better add a section on that. We had no idea Mom could change colors!

OUCHIE!!! My Mom has never had a Valentine’s Toe but I must admit your Mom certainly has a colorful one…..glad you’re giving her extra cuddles. That toesie is gonna hurt for a looooong while I bet…..!
Love, Teddy
Teddy, we’re glad we didn’t do it and we are also glad we don’t have Valentine toes. Maybe if humans walked on all fours like us, they would be so klutzy. MOL!!

Wow ! I’m glad you guys didn’t cause that but it looks pretty painful !Keep helping her get better !
We’re trying. We’ve told her to just sit still and not get into trouble. (By the way, that’s what she tells us, too. MOL!!!)

That poor toe looks incredibly painful. I hope she doesn’t lose the toenail.I am sure you will give lots of good cuddles. And yes, I smashed a finger between the mower and house once and I did end up losing that nail.
Mom says feet are highly overrated and she doesn’t show hers around much. We are doing the best we can keeping her happy and comfortable. Thanks for checking. 🙂
