We’re Soooooooooooo Tired

You may not realize it but we’ve both been very busy trying to find Mom a job so we haven’t been in the blogosphere for a long time.

We loved having her home ‘cuz then we got to play outside more.

Don’t tell the doctor lady but she even gave us a little lunch each day!  (We’re both supposed to be on diets….especially Hemingway!)

Steinbeck, what did I tell you about that subject????

I can’t remember.

Likely story.  Anyway, this morning we helped Mom eat her breakfast and make her lunch.  Then we pushed her out the door.

MOM GOT A NEW JOB!!!!

I was going to gently let the readers know…….sigh

I love telling the readers exciting things so I couldn’t wait.  Tell them more about the new job.  I’ll be quiet.

Well, it’s less than ten minutes from home and she doesn’t have to drive on the freeway at all.  Steinbeck……don’t ask about the freeway now.

OK.  What a grouch!

Anyway, she’s on the eight floor of a building that overlooks the Delta hangars (that used to be Northwest where she worked), Ft. Snelling (where her parents are buried), the Mall of America and a busy freeway.  She loves the views that she has from her desk.  She said she’s going to take pictures sometime so we can see.

She said she had pizza today for lunch and then they all had cookies for a celebration in the afternoon.  How come she gets to eat all the time, Hemingway?

‘Cuz she’s the Mom!!  You know that.

At least now we don’t have to worry about her running out of money to buy our food and toys.

We miss having Mom home during the day but she seems really happy to have this job.  She said the people are really nice and she felt very welcome.  Her boss even greeted her with a hug and at the end of the day asked if she was coming back the next day.  MOL!!!

We’re happy for Mom and now we’re going to do more napping during the day so we can play at night when she gets home.

Mom says to thank everyone who prayed, said kind words, and encouraged her.  It all meant lots to her!!

  1. Yippee…we are all doing the happy dance that you won’t have to give up treats or any other kitty essentials. We know your mom is much relieved to have a new job, and it sounds like she’ll be working with nice people. That’s always a plus! 2. Well boys, you might be losing your daytime companion (aka Mom) but you’re gaining a steady income for toys, treats and FOODABLES for everyone. That’s a super good thing and the fact she likes her new job is just a bonus isn’t it?! It’s nice she doesn’t have to travel far too…..she’ll get home faster which means more time to spend with you boys! YAY!

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. Yay for your mom! A new job is SO exciting! I can’t wait to see her view. It sounds like she has a little of everything out her windows – plus pizza and cookies and hugs! I’d get a job myself if I could be sure there’d be pizza and cookies and hugs!!! Congratulations and best of luck to her and to you kids being brave and waiting while she works.

    Love and licks,

  4. Congrats to your mom. Since she’ll be working so close to home, you might get some extra cuddles each day.

  5. If your Mom wanted to leave you at home all alone to be with strangers all day, then we are happy for you. Our Mom is now home full-time, but rumors are that she isn’t just blogging when she is on the computer so much. Something about a job search… grr. XOX Lucy and Xena

    1. We know how that goes. Mom spent lots of time on the puter “looking” for jobs. We could have told her about several jobs……..cleaning our litter boxes, straightening our toys, brushing our furs, putting out treats……….MOL!!!

  6. Pam, I’m so happy you found a job that seems to fit all your needs. Working close to home is such a gift. I am praying this new situation will bring you lots of joy and peace. Bless you and your boys. Love, Donna

  7. It’s a nice break for kitties and humans to have some time on unemployment but when they find a better job soon after it’s even more to be happy about! My mommy has a great job that she loves but it is an hour away. That really adds to the time I am missing her. But if she is close to home I know it and will start calling out to her (per my son and his fiancée). She could get home by 6:00 or 8:00 pm and I start my yelling about 20 minutes before she drives up the driveway. Do you sense when your mom is almost home?

    1. With her old job we knew when she was going to be home, but she just started this job and it’s only been three days, but we’re usually at the door waiting for her.
