We have decided to become dogs!
Do we have the language down pretty good???

First of all, let us explain something. Mom doesn’t get to go out of the house much. She doesn’t get to see her friends. She doesn’t get to go shopping (which we know she hates anyway).
She does go shopping for our food and treats, however. She said we will always have that. MOL
Back to what I was saying…..since she doesn’t really do much since that Covid stuff came around, it doesn’t take much for her to get all excited about something.
Yeah! We were just sitting there looking at her and she let out a “whoop” after she pointed the flashy box at us. We looked at each other and just giggled.
Here’s what she got a picture of:
She just looked at us and said she finally got a picture of both of us sitting still, looking at her, and keeping our eyes open!
It really doesn’t take much to get Mom excited! We both hope this Covid stuff gets out of the world soon ‘cuz Mom really needs to get out and see people!
Hi everyone! I got to put my art in here today. It’s a very cold day and it’s white outside so I changed the colors. I hope all of you have a warm weekend. If you think about it, turn on your ovens and fans and point them in the direction of Minnesota. Mom says we have no temperature here!!!
Here’s the original picture, showing how cold it is outside.
Be sure to check out what our other friends are doing at the blog hop.
I told Mom that we had to go back and join the Selfie Blog Hop again. It’s been like forever since we’ve seen our friends there and they’ve seen us. Since I was the one to suggest it, Mom said I could use my selfie. This selfie kind of shows my “bedroom eyes” which should get the attention of all the lady kitties out there. MOL!
It’s a cold weekend here in the frozen tundra but Steinbeck and I are staying warm by searching out the sun puddles. We hope all of you are having a fabulous weekend, too.
Oh, and don’t forget to check out the selfies of our friends.
Hemingway, why does a stupid groundhog get to have a whole day? I can easily look outside and see that winter is going to be around for many more weeks. I think we need to have a Steinbeck day. We could have fish tacos and catnip cake. I know all the humans would love that.
Well, I think we should have a Hemingway Day………and I’m not talking about that writer human who had cats with six toes. I think we need to celebrate me. Just look how regal I am. For my day, I want that salmon mouse stuff and tuna water martinis.
How can a fish be a mouse? I think you’re all confused. Did too many snowflakes hit you in the head when you were outside?
Mom said it’s been forever since we’ve participated in this blog hop and it’s time! She said I could be the model today. Here’s what Mom and I came up with to provide you with some special art for the day.
That’s me enjoying a sun puddle. Be sure to check out what my other friends are doing this Saturday.
Mom didn’t have to go to work yesterday so I’m busy helping her try to catch up on everything today.
Here’s something for our readers to figure out. Just how many legs do you think I have?
Boys, I am beginning to think that you are just wasting the day away. I wish I could play silly games all day. Oh, and Hemingway, lying on my computer keyboard is not really helping……no matter what you think. However, I do thank both of you for the pleasant company today.
I told Mom that I just had to go outside and check out all the powdered sugar out there. It’s everywhere. I love to explore in our back yard and when it’s not super cold, I need to be out there checking on things.
Mom…check it out! There really is powdered sugar everywhere. As far as my kitty eyes can see. I just have one question. Why is this powdered sugar so cold????
Mom……..come here. I think I found the end of the road!!! I’m just going to try digging a little bit here to see if there’s any catnip.
Steinbeck, you’ve seen this white stuff before. Why are you acting so crazy? Even the outside cats know that the white stuff is snow and that it is cold and it will be around for a long time. They also know that catnip doesn’t grow when it’s cold and icy outside.
Well, with all that Covid stuff running around and making humans and fur people stay inside, I choose to make my own little fantasy world and pretend things. I still say this is powdered sugar.
Greetings, readers. Steinbeck and I missed most of 2020 ‘cuz we were taking care of Mom.
I helped by doing lots of purring and sleeping.
It all started back in April when Mom, as Steinbeck puts it, broke her heart. She was out in the yard raking and started having some pains but she ignored them. In fact, it was two more days before she went to the hospital.
I am so glad she got to the hospital, but I wish she hadn’t stayed there that long.
Mom said they opened her heart and fixed it but she had to be real careful after that. Obviously she didn’t listen ‘cuz the end of June she fell at home and broke her left femur.
Do felines have femurs, too?
Check Google. Anyway, she was back in the hospital again and then afterwards had to go to another place for rehab. She finally got home and we figured that was it. She started healing and doing therapy and she could even walk without her cane. Then one morning when she got up, she could barely stand on that leg.
She had to go back to her doctor’s house so they could take pictures of her. I still don’t know how they got that camera in there to take pictures of her bones.
Mom was really discouraged when she found out she had broken the plate in her leg. Back to the hospital for yet another surgery. This time they replaced her fake knee with a new fake knee and put a rod in her leg. The doctor told her later that she has about 15 pounds of metal in her leg so she just subtracts that in her mind when she weighs herself. I do, too! MOL!!!
We’re all doing fine now that 2021 is here. We hope you all had a great holiday. Oh, Mom is walking without a cane again and she’s working full time. She’s working from home but she doesn’t disturb our naps too much.
I like having her work from home ‘cuz then I can but her sooner about getting supper ready. Mom is just getting this new site set up so we hope you all found it. She still has work to do on it but at least she’s letting us talk with our friends again.
Hi readers! We’ve been gone a long time again. Mom’s been busy healing the leg she broke and trying to make it strong so she can walk again. She told us that it was just too hard to sit at the computer for a long time so she avoided it.
But she didn’t tell our friends and I’m sure they’ve been worrying.
Well, we’re all doing fine. Mom goes to see her surgeon again next week and may finally get permission to put 100% weight on her bionic leg.
Are you calling it that ‘cuz she has all those plates and silverware and stuff put in her leg to make it work?
Steinbeck, she had one plate and then some screws put in. There was no silverware used in the repair. Now, back to the trouble part of this blog.
I didn’t mean to be that much trouble but I got scared.
Mom had decided to schedule a Spa Day for Steinbeck. He had some narlies and mats on his stomach that she wanted taken care of and he also has swords for nails so she wanted them trimmed. I’ve gone through that and it’s not so bad.
But you’re older than I am.
Anyway, Mom and her brother chased Steinbeck all over the house and couldn’t catch him. He kept slipping through their hands. They finally had to give up. Steinbeck doesn’t know it but he has another appointment and he’s not going to be able to ignore it. Just look how easy it is to get into the kennel. I found it quite comfortable.
That’s because Mom wasn’t taking you to that scary place.
Steinbeck, I love you ‘cuz you’re my little brother….but sometimes you get rather naughty. I know you don’t mean it, but you must remember that Mom is never going to do anything bad to you.
I’ll try to remember, but I really don’t like going to that doctor’s house.
None of us do. Just think of all the times Mom has had to go to doctors’ houses this summer. Has she been running around the house trying not to be caught?
MOL……….that would be funny!!
*Mom’s Note: It’s mid-afternoon and Steinbeck is still hiding. Poor little guy was so traumatized. I hope the next time goes easier…..for the sake of all of us!
