God, I’m so thankful that I’m three years old today.  You let me have this wonderful forever home.  You told Mom she should adopt me and she did.  You even gave me a big brother.  Sometimes he’s a royal pain and we fight, but I do love him.  Thank you for my new scratching post and all the treats.  I can’t believe I’m three.  Do you realize that’s almost all the toes on one paw?  I’m getting old!!!

The other day Aunty Pat stopped by and brought us some presents.

She said she was celebrating both of our birthdays by bringing presents in between when our birthdays fall.  Mom showed us the stuff briefly but tonight she finally let us really look at our presents and sample them.

I don’t think it’s fair!  Hemingway’s birthday was in December and that was LAST year!  My birthday  is next month…hey March starts tomorrow….and I should get more of the treats.

Mom said we have to share so quit complaining.

Hemningway on Pillow

Mom….since Shakespeare’s birthday is next month, I have a great idea.  Why don’t you get him a big pillow?  See how I hang over all the place on this one?  I know he would love it and I’ll make sure that he shares it with me.

Mom…..I’m so excited that my birthday’s coming but don’t listen to Hemingway.  I don’t need a big pillow.  I don’t hang all over the place on that pillow and I like it.  Hemingway just needs to get on the treadmill.  However, notice how nice these plumeria leaves look on my head?  I think it would be great to go to the beach for my birthday.  Just think……….we could get out of the snow and cold.

Mom….if we go to the beach, how are we getting there and how far is it?

The Mom:  Boys, the beach is really far away and we would have to drive for several days or take a plane. 

No way!!!!  I’m not going in the car.

I don’t want to be in a  car that long either.

Maybe that pillow is a good idea after all….

Mom Got Us a Present!

Mom said that she feels sorry for us ‘cuz we can’t go outside and play so she brought home a present for us tonight.

We have plenty of things to play with inside but don’t tell Mom ‘cuz we think it’s so neat that she got us a present.

That’s better.  At least I know to stand away so everyone can see!  Look!  It’s a picture painted by our fur person friend, Quint!  Mom told us all about him and how he likes to paint these beautiful pictures.  Now we have an original!  Now we have to get our own wall so we can hang our painting.

I like this!  There’s even some of my orange color in the picture.  Thanks, Quint!  Mom told us that some of the proceeds from Quint’s art goes to help other kitties who don’t have homes.  That’s really special ‘cuz both of us were homeless when we were kittens.

We sure did!

Yes, Santa Paws was very good to both of us and the Birthday Kitty was really good to me.  I got new toys and lots of treats.

Mom told us we have to share the treats, Hemingway!

I know, but then when your birthday comes, we have to share your birthday treats too.

Shakespeare, you’re so goofy.  Santa Paws isn’t going to leave something under the rug.  He’s going to leave something by this deer with all the lights.  I’m going to have the deer tell me as soon as Santa Paws arrives.

Remember when we were talking about the sun needing batteries so it would be warm again?

I sure do.  Someone must have gotten some batteries because it has been warmer again.

I know.  It’s been nice being outside when it’s warm.  Nika based her drawing on that particular blog of ours.

I’m so glad I adopted you.  My life has been full of fun and adventure since you and Hemingway came into my life.  I am glad you had such a wonderful birthday.  You probably don’t realize it but you heard from people all over the world.  Isn’t it wonderful that you and Hemingway learned to use the computer?  You’re growing up and it was nice of you to share your new toys and treats with Hemingway.  I know he’ll do the same when his birthday comes along.

Hemingway, I know it was sometimes hard for you to watch Shakespeare getting all the attention today but I know you’ll get all sorts of attention on your birthday.  Before you ask, you may not start bugging the humans and other fur people about your birthday yet ‘cuz it isn’t until December and that’s lots of months away from now.  Yes, I know Shakespeare was a bit of a  pest about making sure everyone knew about his birthday, but you are the bigger brother and you should try to be a good example.

Shakespeare, I’m glad you liked your new toys.  I’m going to share a picture of you with one of your new toys.  I’m sure your new human and fur people friends will enjoy seeing it.

Hemingway, I haven’t forgotten you.  Here’s a picture for your human and fur people to enjoy.  I see that you’ve got all sorts of toys handy but you seem to be too tired to play.

You boys had a big day so you should sleep soundly tonight.   How about if you cancel the races through the house just for tonight so we can all sleep.  Sound like a good idea?

IT’S MY SPECIAL DAY…..AT LAST!!!!

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY….IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!  IT’S FINALLY HERE!!  EVERYBODY SING…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I was born on March 22, 2010 and Mom adopted me on June 25, 2010.  I was really scared when I first came to my new house.  There was a big black and white cat named Hemingway that I found out was going to be my big brother.  There was also an old black and white dog named Ebony.  I didn’t know what dogs were but I liked her.  She’s gone now and I miss her.  I am a lucky kitty and I’m so glad Mom chose me.

Now that I’m two I suppose I should start planning my career.  Do you think I would make a good model?  I know I don’t want to be a football star and I don’t want to drive a race car.  However, being a model or a movie star might suit me.

Well, I better get going so everyone can greet me and talk to me on my birthday.  I’m going to play, nap, eat and run through the house ‘cuz I’m so happy it’s my birthday!

Tell you what I’m going to do.  Since it’s my birthday, if Hemingway doesn’t come back here and finish his food, then it’s mine to eat.  First I have to clean out my dish but that shouldn’t be a problem. 

To all my human and fur people friends, I just want to thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday.  I’m really enjoying my special day!

Mom…..hurry up and get home from work so I can open my presents and eat my treats!  Hemingway, thank you for letting me have the blog to myself today.  I’ll do the same for you on your birthday.
