Terrific Tuesday

We couldn’t wait for Mom to get home from that work place tonight.

We just had a feeling all three of us were going to go outside.

The birds were singing and the squirrels were running around in our yard.  They didn’t seem to care that we were coming outside to join them.

Here’s a little look at our exciting time tonight.

imageedit_1_2568444862

Mom, you’ve got lots of work to do.  Where did all these leaves come from?  Did the snow grow them?

imageedit_3_3923800066

Don’t worry, Mom.  I’ll help clean them up!  Just look at what a fine job I’m doing!!

imageedit_7_3107347838

Mom says this is my “Hunter Boy” pose.  She said she loves it ‘cuz it shows off all the colors of my furs.

imageedit_11_8829755060

This is what I did when Mom said we won’t be able to play outside tomorrow night ‘cuz it will be raining.  I wasn’t happy!

imageedit_5_4151486668

When we came inside Mom turned our toy on for us.  The feather dances all over the place.  It just didn’t seem to have the fascination that all the sights and sounds outside had, though.

Well, we hope you enjoyed our adventure outside.  We also hope that “snow” stuff is gone for good now……..and so does Mom.

Take One Little Nap……..

………….and look what happens!!!!

I can't look

Here’s Mr. Outdoor Kitty saying that he can’t look!

My deck is gone

Here’s me trying to figure out what happened to my deck

Not going out

And here’s me refusing to go out.

We’d show you a picture of Mom, but she has a really crabby face when she looks at that white stuff.  Those nasty weather people say it will keep dropping white stuff all night.

Where’s our catnip???

Mom said it’s safe ‘cuz it’s on the south side of the house.

Good!!!  Now I can go back to sleeping.

Monday Meanderings

After a rainy weekend, Mom wanted to be outside when she got home from work tonight so that meant we got to go outside, too!

imageedit_1_7395083386Here I am checking out this bush.  It’s supposed to have leaves on it but I don’t see any.

imageedit_3_9103278502

And here I am trying to convince Hemingway that I AM outside….it just looks like I’m not.  I’m trying to warn him about the strange smells and sounds out there but obviously he’s not listening to me.

imageedit_7_3271976944

Mom found some little flowers blooming on the other side of the fence.

imageedit_9_9724803294Here’s some more that she thought were really pretty.

imageedit_11_3997414655

Now this flower is not real, but it’s one of her favorites.  It was made by a friend of hers.  She has lots of his stained glass things both inside and outside.  She tells us we can’t touch them.

And this picture is the very best:

imageedit_5_4959242027

Mom found some catnip growing and she gave us some!  I was so happy that I even walked out on the deck.

I walked out on the deck before I knew anything about the catnip.  Guess who the brave one is???

Monday, Monday…………

imageedit_2_7319366458

“Just walkin’ in the grass……….just sniffin’ all the smells……..just relaxin’ at the end of the day.”  dum de dum………..toodle do………..    I can hum but I can’t whistle!!!  If I could whistle, I would be letting everyone know how happy I am that the white stuff is going away.

Just a couple weeks ago, the front yard looked like this:

Now we can see where there will be grass……..and weeds!  MOL!!!  I hate to mention this to Mom, but she has lots of raking to do.

I could help with the raking.  I would attack all that stuff just like I attack my feathers.

imageedit_4_3562692571

Somehow I don’t think you’ll be doing any raking.  About all you do is venture out onto the deck and then run back into the house.

Well, there are lots of strange sounds and stuff out there.  I’m not as brave as you are ‘cuz I’m still a little kid.

I think I’ll wander around a little more.  Maybe I can come up with some suggestions for flowers that Mom should plant.  I think most of the gardens should have catnip, don’t you agree?

Spring Came…and Stayed!!

Brotherly LoveHey everyone, we have spring here and it’s been wonderful.  That’s why you haven’t heard from us.  We’ve all been outside playing and working and enjoying all that fresh air.  That makes us really tired so we’ve been napping lots.

I like to go outside to be brushed.  Mom puts my furs on the log pile and then birdies come and take it for their nests.  I think that’s really neat. Now that it’s getting warmer, I have too many furs anyway, so I will gladly share.

Poor Mom has been working like crazy in the yard and she’s kind of broken her body.  She says she’s getting too old for all this stuff but she really loves pretty flowers.

She took some pictures of some of the stuff she’s been doing so we’ll just do a little slide show for you.  Hemingway, how do we do that?

Just put your paw on that button and stand back.

Ok………

We hope you enjoyed our pictures of Mom’s flowers.

I just want to know when the catnip is going to grow.  I saw one container that had chocolate mint in it.  Doesn’t Mom know that’s not good for us?

I think she probably bought that for herself.

Oh……..well, I guess she can do that.

Spring, Are You Really There?

We’ve been kind of quiet this week.  First of all, we got hit by a blizzard last weekend.  Can you believe it?  We didn’t have any blizzards all winter and then in April, here comes a blizzard.  It just doesn’t seem right.

Now we’re finally getting some spring weather.  Hemingway and I spent a lot of time out on the deck with Mom yesterday.  We’re hoping to do the same today.  We can hear birds singing and kids yelling and dogs barking and all sorts of things.

Here’s my selfie for the day.  I wasn’t sure that Spring was really out there so I wasn’t sure I wanted to go outside.

Thanks to all our buddies who talked to Spring and told her to head to our house!

White Update

It’s been melting a little around here.  It’s still cold and there’s still plenty of white stuff out there, but here’s an update.

imageedit_8_5843304242imageedit_6_2953600674imageedit_4_5857430789

See……..the snow and cold didn’t hurt Mom’s flowers.  She says they are very stubborn and just won’t let winter get them down.

Mom says she wishes she were a crocus or a tulip ‘cuz this winter is kind of getting her down.

imageedit_1_4857157591

Here’s one of the stained glass yard art pieces without the snow.  Isn’t that rainbow pretty.  It has a solar light in it so if the sun shines, then it lights up at night.

I like to look at it out the window.

imageedit_10_4832269094

Here we are waiting for Mom to come back inside.

She said she doesn’t want us going out ‘cuz the deck is wet and we’ll get all messy.

We think she just doesn’t want us looking to see if the catnip is growing yet.

Have a great rest of the week, everyone.  Don’t forget…..if you see Spring, tell her to get herself over here right now!

This and That on a Wednesday Night

imageedit_17_9906361773Hemingway, do you think Mom will let us go outside?

Why would you want to go out there, Steinbeck?  It’s still cold. I like being inside where it’s warm.

But that white stuff is disappearing.

Did you hear the wind today?  That wasn’t a warm wind.  I think we should stay inside.

But look what Mom took pictures of tonight when she got home.

imageedit_24_3476357411

Look at all those green things sticking up out of the cold ground?  Do you think they are related to catnip?  Do you think they know catnip and can tell it to start growing?

imageedit_22_8501347221

And look here.  See……..there’s a little bit of color showing.  Doesn’t that mean it’s warm?

imageedit_20_6948764722

And look at that spot of color!  I think that’s gorgeous.  I think I should have a catnip toy made out of that color.  I could really celebrate spring then.

Steinbeck, I think spring got lost.  Even Mom is beginning to wonder if the spring’s GPS stopped working.  She got excited about that little bit of color tonight, but she said it’s going to get cold again.

So does that mean we’re going to have to stay inside the rest of our lives????

If it means not going to the doctor’s house, I’m fine with that.

Looking for Spring

Mom told us that spring is coming today.  She said it’s supposed to get warmer and flowers will start blooming and catnip will grow.  I don’t know why Mom isn’t staying home to welcome spring.  I guess we’ll have to do it.

Hemingway, will you help me look for spring?  I don’t know for sure what I’m looking for.

imageedit_3_3353496670

Is it under there?  Do you see it?

imageedit_5_2290833272

Don’t crowd me, Steinbeck.  I can’t see anything with your furry face in the way.  I don’t think spring is under here.

imageedit_7_5908924628

Hemingway, I just thought of something awful.

What?

Do you think we have to burn all this wood before spring comes?

imageedit_1_6533874563

I’m not sure.  However, I’m pretty sure we shouldn’t have all this white stuff around if spring is coming.  What are we going to do????
