Food WHAT DID YOU SAY????

Shakespeare, quiet! Mom’s birthday is this Saturday but she’s going to be out of town.

Oh right……..I remember that. She’s going to a house that has two dogs and no kitties. She’s going to be very lonely.

Anyway, since she’ll be gone on her birthday, we wanted to make sure something got posted in our blog so she would know we’re thinking of her. She doesn’t even know that I learned how to turn the puter on so we can do this. Won’t she be surprised?

Is someone going to feed us while she’s gone?

Of course. Just relax.

2016 Birthday We don’t have any of that money stuff so we thought we would share some of our toys and treats with you.

Are you really going to give Mom some of my treats? Did I agree to that?

Mom, we just want you to know that even though you won’t be with us on your actual birthday, we will celebrate with you when you get home.

Shakespeare, don’t get too close to that cake it has candles on it.

Who’s going to wrap the present for Mom? Can I help?

We better wrap it really good so she doesn’t guess what it is. You don’t think she’ll be upset that we’re giving her our empty treat toy, do you?

Well, I know I’m upset that it’s empty.

Shakespeare, we need to get serious here. Mom’s having a birthday today.

Yippee!!! Catnip cake and tuna fish shakes!!!

Remember………Mom said she’s going to visit her human friend so when she leaves for work we won’t see her again until Sunday!

That’s a really long time. We better give her this empty treat toy soon so she gets the hint.

Mom……..we know you told us that you’re older than all our toes put together, but we don’t think you’re old. We think you’re really special.

Older than all our toes???? Boy, in cat years, Mom would be a walking miracle!

She is a miracle and she chose us to spend our lives with her.

It’s MY Birthday!!!! This is the day to celebrate me!!!

I’m five years old today. That’s one paw, as I’m showing you in that less than graceful pose Mom took of me one day. I am now convinced that “High Five” was created so we could celebrate five years. It’s one paw or one hand! It works for humans and fur people. It’s pretty neat.

So, we had a little party today and of course Hemingway had to join in. Mom says we have to share. When he has his birthday, I get treats and toys, too…..so I guess it’s only fair.

It’s not really a ghost…….it’s me!!! I’m five years old today. That’s one paw! I am so excited to be celebrating my birthday with everyone. Mom hasn’t brought out the presents yet, but I know she will. She told me I still have to try to be good today. Why do I have to be good on my birthday? Oh well, I guess I’ll try.

Shakespeare, I’m worried.

Why?

It’s only two days until my birthday and I don’t see any signs of a big party, parade, TV interview, photographers…….

You interrupted me from my bath for that whining? Didn’t you see all the cookies Mom baked today?

Oh sure……….she baked lots of cookies, but NONE of them have catnip and that’s my very favorite. What’s a handsome tuxedo boy to do???

Hemingway, why did you mess up the rug?

There are many reasons! First of all, I messed it up ‘cuz I could! Secondly I was thinking about all the hours Mom has been spending away from home and I got a little mad so I figured messing up the rug would get her attention. Then suddenly it hit me…….

I did not hit you!

I’m sure you did, but what I meant was I all of a sudden realized why Mom has been gone so much. She’s out shopping for all my birthday presents. My birthday is only 12 days away now and I’m going to be 5!!! That’s one whole paw!!!

I hate to burst your bubble filled with catnip, but Mom’s not out shopping for your birthday presents. She’s been busy practicing for her big choir concert at church. Here’s a picture of the choir. Mom’s the one in the red robe….hehehehe

A Special Day

A voice in the distance asks, “Does anyone know what today is?”

I do!!! I do!!! See….I’ve got my hand in the air! Well, if I wasn’t so tired and I was actually sitting up, my hand would be in the air. Can’t you just use your imaginations?

I’ve got my hand…er foot…..in the air, too! I know what day it is!

I’m going to make sure that everyone in computer land knows what day it is, too. Now how do you spell catnip?

I think I’ll wrap the gift in this paper. Isn’t it pretty?

I wonder what else has been in this bag? Was there maybe some catnip in here? Maybe I should keep this bag for myself.

I can’t believe it. Today is my big day. I’ve waited a whole year to be three and now I am! I’m as old as Hemingway is now. I’m a big boy!

Three years ago today I was born. I don’t remember my fur mom and I don’t remember where I was born. I do remember being at this special place with other little kitties and puppies. I was scared. I was also curious and wanted to know what was going to happen next. On a stormy night, my human Mom came with a friend to meet me. I was a little orange ball of fur and I was all over the place and wouldn’t let her hold me. (That should have given Mom a clue about me and my independence.) I was so lucky that night ‘cuz she adopted me and brought me home. At first I was scared of that big black and white fur person in the house, but I eventually got used to him and I tolerate him as long as he doesn’t try to eat my food.

This is a picture of me when I was little. My tail was long even then!

Here’s another picture of me kitten posing. Mom said she really liked my pretty eyes.

Mom took this picture today with her flashy box. I’m taking a nap ‘cuz I need to be ready to party tonight! I hope Hemingway doesn’t try to eat all my special treats!

Winter Thoughts

This sad little flower in the snow pretty much sums up how Shakespeare and I feel about this winter that will never end.

Just look at all that white stuff out there! We don’t like it. When our feet touch that white stuff it makes our toes cold.

The other day Mom was taking pictures of what happened when yet another snow storm came through our town.

Just look what she found! We kept looking at this picture and we decided that it’s spring finally coming our way!

Mom looked at the picture and said it’s probably that polar express train. Wait…….I know what it really is!!! It’s the Party Express Train coming my way ‘cuz my birthday is less than a month away now!
