If we don’t get rain soon, do you think the catnip will stop growing????
Happy Sunday Selfie to everyone. Be sure and check out our friends at the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop hosted by our dear friends.
Mom kept telling us that this was Election Day and we should go vote. Well, if it’s today, why did she vote last Saturday? She just went off to work this morning and said, “Bye. Be good and don’t forget to vote.”
Mr Mouse, this was my first election day and I was scared. I thought I would vote for the wrong thing. They shouldn’t make us young kittens vote on important stuff. I just pray I did the right thing! I can tell you that I voted for free catnip for all the kittens and cats in our country. I also voted for good homes for all the fur people so nobody is hungry or cold. Then I voted for an extra treat tonight. 🙂
Mr. Mouse, I’ve been through this before but I had to help the little one. He was scared to put any marks on the ballot. I think he did pretty good so he shouldn’t worry. I voted for a little free time for myself. I also voted for daycare for kittens so we adult cats don’t have to kittensit them all the time while our humans work. I also voted for extra treats!
Yes, Mr. Mouse. We did our duty….
…..and so did Mom!
Hey Hemingway, did you realize today is a celebration day for me?
Don’t you have celebration days all the time????
No. It only seems like it since I’m so adorable. However, Mom reminded me tonight that I’m five months old today!!! Just think. Five months ago I was born into this world and about three months ago Mom came and adopted me so I could be in my forever home with you!
Oh boy…………
So, Happy Birthday to me! I’m now one paw old!!! Mom……..can we have catnip cake now?
This is us relaxing on the deck a few days ago.
Tonight we’re inside and we’re not happy about it.
In fact, we’ve been inside all week.
Mom said all the angels were baking chocolate chip cookies and brownies and they all left their oven doors open so it got super, super hot this week.
She said she didn’t want us going out when it was so hot but we know that she’s the one who didn’t want to go out and play with us!
Mom said there were more reasons she didn’t want us going outside.
She said something about the Raptor Center releasing a Cooper’s Hawk youngster in our neighbor’s yard last week. He was hanging around here looking for the older hawk that’s been in this area. You see, the young one didn’t know how to hunt yet so they were hoping he would get lessons from the older one.
Hey…..I know how to hunt! I could teach him.
Shakespeare, Mom doesn’t want you messing with any hawks. She said they are dangerous for us little and not so little kitties. Here’s a picture of one!
Is that the one in our neighborhood?
Nope. Mom hasn’t seen him yet or you can bet she would be out there with the camera.
I guess we’ll just have to stay inside in the cool air for now. I wonder if those angels would consider making some catnip brownies. I could go for some right now!!!!
Well of course you would!!!
Mom got home safe and sound and said she was surprised at how much her brother had done on the deck while she was gone.
She even has steps now so she can get up on the deck without any problems.
Remember we told you all about how graceful she isn’t? MOL!!!
Anyway, here are some pictures of our adventure tonight. Mom didn’t let us stay out real long ‘cuz there was a hock circling.
Shakespeare, I think it’s spelled h-a-w-k.
Whatever!
Shhhhh…….we must be very quiet ‘cuz we’re being very, very sneaky!
WHAT DID YOU SAY????
Shakespeare, quiet! Mom’s birthday is this Saturday but she’s going to be out of town.
Oh right……..I remember that. She’s going to a house that has two dogs and no kitties. She’s going to be very lonely.
Anyway, since she’ll be gone on her birthday, we wanted to make sure something got posted in our blog so she would know we’re thinking of her. She doesn’t even know that I learned how to turn the puter on so we can do this. Won’t she be surprised?
Is someone going to feed us while she’s gone?
Of course. Just relax.
We don’t have any of that money stuff so we thought we would share some of our toys and treats with you.
Are you really going to give Mom some of my treats? Did I agree to that?
We heard that it’s going to be two hundred and elebenty billion degrees outside on Saturday and we know why. Just look at all those candles!!!!
Don’t worry folks. Once Mom blows out the candles it should cool down a little. Too bad her birthday isn’t in January! MOL!!!!
Mom, we just want you to know that even though you won’t be with us on your actual birthday, we will celebrate with you when you get home.
Do you like catnip on your cake?
The deck is coming along nicely but it isn’t finished yet.
We had to go outside and check on it today. After all, the humans need our advice on everything!
Is that one of my toys down there? No…I guess not. Mom doesn’t let me bring my toys outside.
Mom wanted to take everyone on a tour of all the colors we have in our yard now.
You might ask why we aren’t taking you on the tour. Well, some of the things are in the front yard and we aren’t supposed to leave the back yard.
You do that all the time!
Don’t tell the readers that.
Anyway, here’s another reason we aren’t outside:
That first step is a doozie!!! Mom can’t even use the door now ‘cuz her legs are too short to navigate that route. Her brother tore apart the deck and is putting in a new one.
Yes, Mom is using the front door now and that scares us! We’re not used to having people we know come in that door. Of course we also have trouble going in and out the back door now, too!
So Mom wanted to show us what’s blooming in the yard. Here’s what she found.
Hey Mom……….why didn’t you take any pictures of our catnip????
Hey everyone, I’m a star!!!
Aren’t you going to let people know what’s going on with us first?
Nope. I’m a star!
This wonderful photo of me was posted on Kaatzenworld’s Happy Tummy Rub Tuesday (TRT). Don’t I look wonderful???? I really love all the glittery things Mom added.
Enough about you! Folks, we’re sorry we’ve been quiet but it’s Mom. Now, we happen to love chasing bugs and catching them.
I’ve been known to sit and stare at dirt for hours. Mom thinks I’m crazy but there are little bugs in there that I’m studying. Once I know everything about bugs, I’ll be even more famous.
Anyway…….Mom obviously doesn’t like catching bugs! She caught a nasty one and she was just so sleepy that she couldn’t do anything.
She made it to work.
That’s true. If she had stayed home from work she might have had more time for us!
Mom made all sorts of funny sounds when she was sleeping. There was wheezing, whistling, crackling, snorting and then the coughing! At first I thought she was trying to purr when she was sleeping.
However, there’s NO WAY we make noises like that when we’re sleeping!!!
So, Mom is finally getting better and seems to have a little more energy.
We’re hoping she gets busy and starts telling all of you about our adventures again.
She can also tell everyone what a STAR I am!!!
Good grief………………
