A Little Conversation Between Brothers

Steinbeck, can you believe all we’ve been through lately?

Well, not much has happened to you, but I’ve had a very adventurous month or so.

What all happened to you?  All I know is that you disappeared for a few days and I missed you.

You did?  That’s so nice of you to say.  I’m not sure what all happened to me ‘cuz the doctor ladies and men told Mom but they didn’t tell me.  Mom did try to explain some things to me.  She told me I was blocked and couldn’t go potty.  The doctors did all sorts of things to help me but I got that ugly cateater thing out of me all by myself.  My doctor said she had never seen any kitty do that before.  I keep telling everyone that I’m special.

Is that when you spent the night away from home?

Yes, and then I got to come home the next day but Mom thinks that was too soon ‘cuz I still couldn’t go potty.

That’s the day Mom had to go to the hospital herself, right?

Sure is.  Then I went to another doctor’s house and spent the night there.  I didn’t know anyone there, but they were all nice.  They did a really good job and I got to go home the next day and this time I was so much better.

Meanwhile, Mom was busy going to doctor appointments and having all sorts of tests.  Then she noticed that I wasn’t my normal self again so she took me back to see the doctor lady.  They did some tests and said I was too stressed out and had blood in my urine.

How did that get there and what were you stressed about?

I was stressed that you would hide all my favorite toys while I was gone.  I was stressed about getting new kitty food.  I was stressed about Mom having to get more Halloween Ghosts in her blood.  I was stressed about summer going away.  I was stressed about my furs that were being cut.  Will they grow back the same color?

Man, you really were stressed.  How do you feel now?

I feel great.

I’m so happy to hear that.  Mom is feeling good too and they didn’t find any bad things in all the tests she had.

Isn’t it nice to have things calm down a little?

Yes.  Maybe now Mom will let us update our blog more often.

MOL!!!

Now What????

Steinbeck, why did you put a picture of a clown on our blog?

‘Cuz Mom said she was scoping out clowns yesterday.  That’s why she was gone most of the day.

No, no, no………

Yes, yes, yes……..

Steinbeck, Mom wasn’t scoping out clowns, she had to have a colonoscopy.  Didn’t you notice that she didn’t eat all weekend?

Now that you mention it, I didn’t notice her in the kitchen very much.  So what is that cold as a pea thing?

It’s not a very fun test, but Mom says it’s really critical to determine if a human has cancer.

MOM HAS CANCER????????????

No, no, no…….relax.  Her test was fine but she wouldn’t have known that if she hadn’t had the test.

Will we have to have one of those cold as a pea things?

No.  At least I certainly hope not.  Can you imagine spending all day and night in the litter box???

That’s why Mom was living in the bathroom?

Surrounded by ginger

Did you notice she wasn’t smiling much……….or even talking???

Hemingway, if Mom ever puts peas in our food dish……..

RUN!!!!

From the Mom:

Yes, I went through the torture of having a colonoscopy yesterday.  (I hope this isn’t TMI, but I do feel it’s important.)  The prep was really hard on me this time so next time, the doctor is going to change some of the things I have to take.  However, I’m glad it’s over and I’m glad they didn’t find anything serious.  Early detection is key and the fact I’ve had polyps in the past indicates I need to be alert.  Even though it’s no fun, I recommend everyone getting the test.  Oh, and I won’t be putting peas in the boys’ dishes.
