Mom says I’m growing up so I can go outside like Hemingway. However, I have to have a leash and harness on. I’m not super into that plan ‘cuz Hemingway gets to go outside “naked”. Still, I’m getting to explore the yard a little.

MOM!!!! What was that noise???? You’ll stay close to me, won’t you??? Don’t let go of the blue thing……please!!!!

I’m not even paying attention to you. This deck was supposed to be my special place and now you’re out here!

Mom’s Laughing at Us!

Mom said we had to apologize for going missing for so long.

Why do we have to apologize? She’s the one who was missing!! She didn’t even bother to turn the puter on for us.

Hemingway, Mom had a rough few weeks.

Oh, that’s right. She had all sorts of singing to do for Easter and for a concert last weekend. Then she managed to slice her finger when she was cooking something. We both know she tends to be a little klutzy.

MOL!!! Mom’s going to get you!!!

Anyway, it just seems like Mom’s been running on empty lately.

I NEVER run on empty!!! I remind EVERYONE if my food is low!

We know!!!

So, today was purrfect so Mom was working outside and we were “helping”.

We both ran around the yard chasing leaves and twigs and talking to our dog friends in the neighborhood. We smelled the fresh air and of course we did lots of exploring. Now Mom’s laughing at us ‘cuz this is what we look like after our adventures.

From the Mom: Both boys had way too much excitement today and the two pictures above show what they have been doing since coming in and having their supper. I knew they were really really tired when neither one tried to “help” me make the bed with the fresh off the line sheets! Sorry I haven’t been writing, but it’s just been kind of hard lately. We’ll try and stay on top of things! We’ve missed all of you!!!

Our Idea of Labor Day

We think humans have it all wrong.

We’ve had “Labor Day” at our house all weekend and we’re tired of it.

There was a man with strange blue feet who brought in some big equipment and sucked up all our hair and smells out of the carpet. We thought Mom would be mad ‘cuz he made it wet, but she didn’t care.

Before that Mom and her brother were moving furniture all over the place and we couldn’t find anything! Our favorite sleeping spots were gone.

Then they used that noisy sucky thing on all the carpets. Way too much work!!!

First of all, this is the perfect day for naps:

This is my inside out, upside down sleeping pose. Mom says she can’t even tell where my head is. Believe me, it is still attached!

This is my adorable pose! I win!

Another thing that’s perfect for today is playing with our treat toy. Mom “hides” treats in it and then we set them free.

Mom………..people are going to start thinking that this is all we do!

Actually, we do a lot of this. We play for a bit and then we get distracted by birds!

Shakespeare, nobody can forget that you do lots of eating!

And we also do lots of waiting for Mom to pick the catnip and bring it in for us!

We just wanted to let you readers know that in spite of Mom not turning on the computer for us, we are doing fine. Mom says she is too tired when she gets home from that work thing so she doesn’t let us play on the computer.

Maybe we should get Mom away from that work thing!

Then how could she afford treats, food and toys for us?

Never mind. Keep going to that work thing, Mom!!!

So, you may be wondering what happened to us. Did we fall off the planet? Did we go chasing a mousie down a long deep hole? Did we get our toenails done and didn’t dare use the computer keyboard? Did we become big stars and go into seclusion?

Seclusion? What is that???

It means hiding out from everyone and everything.

Oh, we never do that!!!!

I know, I’m just teasing the readers.

Mom said we shouldn’t tease each other.

As I was saying before I was interrupted………none of those things happened! This picture gives you a clue as to what we’ve been doing.

Yes readers, our mom took a vacation without us so we’ve been making her feel guilty. We did a good job of it, too. She’ll have to explain to you later just what she was doing. We just wanted everyone to know that we are fine and we’re sorry we’ve been gone so long.

Mom took a picture of me talking to Mr. Outside Cat. We were having a nice conversation about how awful winter is and Mom came along with her flashy box. She used a colored pencil effect on this and then “framed me”…MOL!!!

I was having a nice dream about food and Mom crept up on me with that flashy box. I chose to keep my eyes shut and ignore her! She used a charcoal effect on this picture and then put a food frame around me. I think I look rather cute!

Mom, why do you have that flashy thing pointed at me? I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to take a nap. These are my “I’m glaring at you ‘cuz you’re disturbing me” eyes. Are they working? Are you scared yet?

Mom, I’m trying to take a nap, too. Shakespeare likes to sleep on the pillow but I prefer your lap! And I won’t scare you.

Oh, little Mr. perfect. I’m going to pretend you’re not there. Don’t you love my fur coat? It’s going to come in so handy when winter comes.

Mom? What did you mean when you said you were going to change my name to Velcro or Sticky Sam? And I told you not to point that flashy thing at me when I’m sleeping on your lap. I tried to get my foot up on the lens but I wasn’t fast enough.

Mom, can you get me a bigger pillow? My tail doesn’t fit on this one. Look…I have snowshoes on my feet! All that fur is going to keep my feet warm when winter comes.

Weekend Weary

This is what happens to two little kitties who spend way too much time outside during the weekend, “helping” the Mom clean up the yard after a big storm.

Now don’t let them try to convince you that they’re little angels ‘cuz they’re typical little boy kitties. Hemingway decided he had to “help” me make the bed with the fresh sheets that had dried outside. I finally had to shut him out of the room. Both boys woke up early and thought they should get me up as well. However, it’s so cute when they finally do crash ‘cuz they sleep so hard and peacefully.

MOM!!!! Quit making that flashy thing go off when we’re trying to sleep.

We’re going to remember this at 4am tomorrow morning.

Sigh…………….

Mom Went to the Dogs

Shakespeare!!! Are you really going to put that as the title?

Why not? That’s what she did.

Our readers aren’t going to understand.

Well, you explain then. I need to take a nap.

While Shakespeare takes yet another nap, I’ll try to explain what happened. Mom’s been gone for all sorts of days ‘cuz she said she was taking care of dogs for some human friends of hers. I don’t know why she had to go live with the dogs, but she did stop and visit us a few times during all those days. Today she finally came home and brought that suitcase thing with her so we figure she’s back to stay again.

Yawn………..are you done now? Did you tell them what Mom saw when she came home?

Oh, I almost forgot. She drove up in the driveway and looked over to the left and this is what she saw:

It made us wonder if our mothers ever took us for walks when we were really little.

I’m so happy Mom’s home now. Here’s a picture of me on Mom’s lap. It’s hard to tell ‘cuz I’m so close, but I’m really happy.

I like sleeping on my pillow or maybe I should say I like sleeping on any pillow no matter who it belongs to!

I also like those little naps in the sun.

Mom claims that the reason we haven’t been writing anything on our blog is because we’ve been too lazy and haven’t taken care of things while she was gone. Here’s my response:

Here’s a picture of us getting along.

I was trying to show Hemingway that there was lots of room under there for him to hide but he was too lazy to move. So I lifted the rug even higher.

Why should I hide under the rug? I didn’t do anything wrong……….yet.

Here we are after Mom gave us some really good nip from the garden.

We were so relaxed!

We both love fresh nip!

Yep….that nip just goes to my head.

I’m a little more refined in showing my appreciation ‘cuz I’m such a gentleman.
