Steinbeck, why are you asking such a question? Mom would quickly tell you that every day is a vacation for you. Mom has to go to work and I have to stay home and take care of you. That means all you do is sleep, eat and play.
Is that a vacation?
Well, it can be.
Is that what Mom did when she went on that vacation last weekend?
Not really. Mom was busy running around with her girlfriend, checking out neat restaurants, looking for fun things to buy and playing with her girlfriend’s dogs.
Trust me. Playing with dogs is NOT a vacation!!! What did the dogs look like? Were they as cute as I am?
Give me a break. Here’s a picture. Each dog has a favorite toy as you can see.
MOL!!! I see what’s wrong with them. They both look like you!
Mom………on your next vacation……….I’m going with you! I know I hate to ride in the car but taking care of Steinbeck is getting harder and harder as he gets older. I need a vacation!
That’s why we wanted her home. Oh……..and of course we wanted to see her, too.
Then we started playing. At least I started playing. I found this red feathery thing and I thought it looked so neat against my white and black furs. Notice how white my fluffy tummy is? Steinbeck doesn’t have a white tummy. That’s how you can tell us apart. MOL!!!
That’s a nice toy you have there, Hemingway. Are you going to let me play with it?
Steinbeck, can’t you go find your own toy? Why do you have to have mine? (By the way readers, do you notice that Steinbeck doesn’t have a white tummy?)
But see how nice it looks with my furs? It really blends in. Please let me play.
Fine. I know Mom likes us to share and play nice. We should do it for her and show our readers that we do get along.
Howdy, Readers! This has been a fabulous day for me. When Mom got home from work she was kind of acting funny. She was being super nice to both of us. Wait, that sounded wrong. Mom’s always nice to us. However, I was thinking she was up to something. I was right. Next thing I knew I was in the car and we were heading to the doctor lady’s house. Mom kept telling me not to worry.
Here I am trying to melt into the chair in the waiting room.
Here I am trying to melt into the scale. Would you believe I fell asleep in here? Mom was real proud of me ‘cuz I’m down to 19 pounds now so I’m a slim, trim, dude!
Here’s the doctor lady looking at where my tooth used to be. I let her do that without any problems. Mom told me I was real good.
When I got home, Mom said there was a surprise for me. I actually got something in the mail! Steinbeck thought it was for him, too. However, it was just my name on the envelope.
Here I am protecting my mail from others!
These are my neat gifts from the tooth fairy. Of course Steinbeck thought he should check everything out as well.
Here’s Steinbeck “pouncing” on one of they toys.
Here I am protecting one of the toys. If you notice on my leg, that’s where they shaved off my fur. It’s growing back nicely.
So that was my Monday. Not bad! I hope all of you had a super Monday, too.
